Full English Breakfast Quiche

Friday 24 June 2016

Oh dear, I am going to write something about the EU Referendum.

Well, to be honest I'm actually not. By the way, I didn't vote yesterday. Not because I didn't want to, but because I was not allowed to. So don't ask me what did I vote.

What would I have voted if I would have been given the opportunity? That's another matter.

Pineapple Baked Puddings

Friday 17 June 2016

Last Sunday was my birthday.

That means I´m 35 years old now. Thirty-five! It does look like it was yesterday when I laughed about these really really really old 35 year old´s.... and now look at me, blowing a number 3 and 5 shaped candles!

I am in that age when people cannot really guess your age. When I´m asked, how old are you? I respond with the evil question, how old do you think I am?

Lemon Drizzle Cake

Friday 10 June 2016

Yes, we have succumbed. I must admit that it is my husband's pretty much entire fault. But hey, we are a team and we both agreed. To be truthful, it was me who arranged the whole thing this time.

I have always been quite critical with Disney: all this consumerism, manufactured fun, and the fact that I'm not Mr. Walter Disney's greatest fan. And when my parents took when I was around 13 years old I must admit the park itself didn't impress me much.

But I presume that when you are a parent, you do Disney for your children. In fact, when you are a parent, you do all sorts of things for your children. Like taking them to horrid birthday parties, or eating their left overs, or coming back home from that epic barbecue because they are tired, or forgetting what a relaxed weekend away means.

Dark Chocolate & Avocado Pudding

Friday 3 June 2016

I suspect today’s recipe is going to be a hard sell.

Avocado and dark chocolate pudding. Avocado. And. Chocolate. In a pudding. These two ingredients shouldn't work but they really do!

Before you click away, please wait just a minute. As unpromising as this sounds, this unusual combo makes probably the most delicious dessert I’ve eaten in months. And trust me, I've eaten lots.

Avocados are super versatile and can be used to create creamy smoothies, or can be substituted for butter or oil in baking. They also make great additions to sandwiches or burgers, and they can even be used to make brownies and more indulging desserts.
